Sir:-
With reference to your letter of the 14th instant (48790/1905), I am directed by Secretary Sir Edward Grey to transmit to you, for the information of the Earl of Elgin, paraphrase of a telegram which has been sent to His Majesty's Minister at Pekin with regard to the wish of His Royal Highness Prince Arthur of Connaught to visit Canton, after his arrival at Hongkong.
A further communication will be addressed to you upon receipt of Sir E. Satow's reply.
